It looks like Mukesh Ambani led Reliance has made up it’s mind to push all other telecom and DTH providers out of the business. After the successful implementation of its flagship Jio network, it is now all set to venture into the business of broadband and DTH. In a few months time it will roll out its direct to home services.
The broadband service will come in the form of a high-speed optical fibre with speeds upto 1 Gbps. Customers would not only get this high speed internet but also a plethora of other Jio services The hardware will include a set-top-box, as well as an android smartbox or IOS TV that will help them to both control the content and play games.
This would be the first time Indian users would get to experience such a high speed internet. According to the company, the cables are already laid for in most parts of the country and the the services would be open for public soon. It has also maintained that the prices would be very nominal in line with the Jio prices.
It is also launching its Jio TV which would have more than 360 channels, at least 50 in High Definition. It’s also rolling out it’s Jio MediaShare, with which the company is promising the ability to locally play content across all your devices from your PC or hard-drive – using the Home Gateway.Reliance has a lot up it’s sleeve. The company would be out with all the services once it’s done installing the wires and devices all across India. With this, it would become the first company to link everything through web. Reliance has been like a miracle for some time and these services would no doubt help it establishing itself as the biggest telecom company in India.
